Well, maybe that cover turned out to be like a horror movie, and not so normcore, but it definitely looks like what normcore feels to me. A term, that i came to discover just a while ago.
Normcore is a unisex fashion trend characterized by unpretentious, average-looking clothing. The term combines the words “normal” and “hardcore”, and was coined by K-Hole, a trend forecasting group. Normcore wearers are people who do not wish to distinguish themselves from others by their clothing [.…]
Normcore clothes include everyday items of casual wear such as t-shirts, hoodies, short-sleeved shirts, jeans and chino pants, but not items such as neckties or blouses. These clothes are worn by men and women alike, making normcore a unisex style. via Wikipedia

The black & white, basic, simple, chic as we call it, has a term.  And honestly, i wasn’t excite to hear how strict it is. I never really put a label on my style. Usually just went with what i simply liked. But it’s kinda fascinating discovering that there is an actual term for what you basically like to wear, and that has been so in right now.
Although in the hardcore normcore phases i feel it’s not something i would be able to wear, most of the times, i find appealing and yes, sexy. Not in the high heels, short dress sexy – although we’ve seen normcore versions of that too – but in a strong, feminine way. One of my favourite normcore style bloggers, would be Kaitlyn where you can see her glorious style all over Pinterest.
Some, find it an ugly trend. But as you and i know, it can be chic, easy to maintain, affordable since you only have basics and play with accessories. On top of everything, it feels clean. Something as a designer i value a lot. Having a full brain with colours, ideas and type, i like keeping my pallet simple. As with everything, incorporating your character to your style / or trend if you call it, makes it more personal and close to who you are.

I'm a big fan of Normcore! I've been loving basic pieces lately and really trying to get rid of trendy things I never wear. This is the perfect graphic to describe that feeling Corina!

  • Danielle Marshall

This is so me! I never knew there was a term for it though. Learn something new every day. Really digging the graphic you created. Sets the perfect mood for Normcore.

I didn't know this was a trend or that this style had a name but I definitely feel identified with it, I'm trying to add more basic and neutral pieces to my closet, it will take me some time but I feel it's the right path to develop my style.

  • Natasha Linskill

Ha, I love that this has a name – I am totally normcore.

  • Bri

  • Olivia

Wearing jeans and t-shirts has been my norm for a while, I guess normcore is a great way to describe it!
I do really like what you said about it being simple and clean!

  • Kyla

Huh, I never heard of normcore before! I don't think it really characterizes my style, but it fits you perfectly! I have a lot of friends who wear this simple, casual style. And it always looks so comfortable!

  • Tamsin Lim

I'd been wondering what 'normcore' means for ages! Thanks for clarifying! I probably fit into this category out of carelessness and disregard for what I wear rather than a concerted effort to look normcore 😛

  • Jessica at Team Wiking

I love all of this, of course!
