On the 5th of August, our best friends and a couple of friends and their dog that visited us, celebrated hubby's birthday on mountain Ainos.
We usually don't celebrate our birthdays, most of the times, because we don't have the time! But this year we decided to do something alternative and go on an adventure. You might remember how i shared with you our visits to mountain Ainos this winter (wish i could link the post, but remember how google deleted my images?) With a height of 1,628m (5,341'), being the highest mountain in the Ionian Sea, being there, is literally being above the clouds (remember?)
We hiked to the top, which was as always absolutely breathtaking. You can see all the island from above and i swear if it wasn't so ho, i would sit there for like ever. There were no clouds this time, like in the winter. Each season has its beauty up there. What hubby and i want to do before summer ends, is see the sunset. Can you imagine how beautiful that would be? It already takes my breath aways just thinking about it.
Of course, the place was perfect for the best shots. I mean what shot would look bad with that view? Living on the island has it's privileges. Everything is so close. Everything is at a very close distance, even to reach the mountain by car is like 15 minutes from our home. How can i get enough of this life? I honestly can't!
Poor Bella and the other 2 dogs even though they liked hiking, they were thirsty and would drink every 5 minutes. But i bet they enjoyed after all!
Our last stop was at a picnic table within the forest, for some greek food; tomato, bread, feta cheese, olive oil and oregano. And of course some birthday muffins. Yes the monstrous ones i make :) This girl has to buy a muffin pan! Oh, well at least everyone liked them - even the thousands of bees that came to have a bite.
