FALLING IN LOVE

A few days ago, we visited for the very first time the only pet shelter in Kefalonia, and what i felt at first was to cry. In the shelter were somewhere about 200 dogs and 50 cats that were abandoned in the past year. Thankfully the ARK shelter has been providing food, medicine and a roof above their heads but still it's incredibly sad that people just don't care

My husband and i, are willing to help any way we can, starting with building a treehouse for the cats, i'll be making some toys for them (yes the mouse ones!) and we'll be organizing a donation to gather some money to help feed them - which is the most important issue.

While being at the ARK, we fell in love with the beautiful Bella, a siberian husky. She is 3 years old, and she was found this July beaten and terribly hurt. You have no idea how much we've loved her in just 3 days and today we've spent the whole day with her. We took her on a mini trip and seriously had the best day in our lives by just being with her. She's the most adorable and gentle animal i've ever met. Well it's not hard to imagine that soon she will be forever ours..

This is such a touching post! It also makes me so sad that so many pets are abandoned and abused every day, but thanks to good-hearted fellow and shelters, we still can save a lot of them. I'm glad that that beautiful siberian husky will have a loving home soon!

this was such a sweet post, thank you fro sharing it, we need more people like you and your husband!

i grew up with all sorts of pets, my mums last dog was adopted from a rescue. I really, really miss the comfort and companionship of a pet, but unfortunately flats in London very rarely let you have one! the first thing i'll do when i move back to NZ is adopt a dog from a rescue center.
